About the Women Cell
The Women Cell of the College has been constituted in alignment with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote gender equity, women empowerment, and inclusive institutional development. The Cell serves as a proactive platform for addressing issues related to women’s welfare, safety, rights, health, and professional growth, while fostering a campus environment grounded in dignity, equality, and mutual respect.
In accordance with best practices adopted by leading higher education institutions, the Women Cell works in coordination with other statutory bodies such as the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and Anti-Gender Harassment Cell, ensuring a holistic and structured approach towards women-centric initiatives and support mechanisms within the college.

To empower women through education, awareness, leadership, and equal opportunities, enabling them to realize their full potential in a safe, supportive, and gender-sensitive academic environment.
Objectives
- Promote gender equality and women empowerment in line with UGC policies
- Create awareness about women’s rights, legal provisions, health, safety, and well-being
- Provide a supportive and inclusive forum for women students and staff
- Encourage leadership, confidence-building, and skill development
- Organize programs related to health, career guidance, and personality development
- Support institutional initiatives aimed at maintaining a safe and respectful campus
Functions of the Women Cell
- Organize seminars, workshops, awareness campaigns, and outreach activities on women-related issues
- Conduct health, hygiene, wellness, and counseling programs
- Promote gender sensitization among students and staff
- Encourage women’s participation in academic, cultural, and extension activities
- Coordinate with statutory and institutional committees for women safety and grievance support
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to women when required
