About the Cell
The Anti-Gender Harassment Cell (AGHC) has been constituted by the College to ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful academic environment free from all forms of gender-based discrimination and harassment.
The Cell functions in accordance with national legal frameworks, institutional policies, and best practices adopted by leading higher education institutions, with the objective of promoting gender equality, dignity, and mutual respect among all members of the college community.
Vision
To create a gender-sensitive campus that upholds the values of equality, dignity, safety, and respect, enabling every individual to learn and work in a harassment-free environment.
Objectives
- Prevent and prohibit gender-based harassment and discrimination
- Promote gender equality and inclusivity on campus
- Provide a safe, confidential, and impartial mechanism for grievance redressal
- Create awareness about gender rights, responsibilities, and ethical conduct
- Ensure timely redressal of complaints in a fair and transparent manner
- Foster a campus culture aligned with best practices of reputed institutions
Roles & Functions of the Cell
- Receive and address complaints related to gender-based harassment
- Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the grievance redressal process
- Conduct inquiries following principles of natural justice
- Recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions to the college authorities
- Organize awareness programs, workshops, seminars, and campaigns
- Promote a gender-inclusive and respectful campus environment
- Maintain records and submit reports as required
Scope of the Cell
- Students (including interns and trainees)
- Teaching and non-teaching staff
- Contractual and support staff
- All academic, administrative, and extracurricular spaces within the campus
Composition of the Cell
The Anti-Gender Harassment Cell comprises experienced faculty members, administrative representatives, and student representatives committed to promoting gender justice and equality.
