In the second year i.e., in third and fourth semester, all subjects are compulsory which imparts basic knowledge about Haematology, Anatomy & physiology, Cellular pathology, Immunology and biochemistry. In the third year i.e. in fifth and sixth semester, all subjects are compulsory and most of them covered medically important microbes (bacteria, virus and fungi) infections caused by them, their laboratory diagnosis and medical laboratory management. One minor project and one major project need to be completed by the students in two stages after completing first stage in fifth semester and second stage in sixth semester. Future Scope

This branch has two prime career options, including medical laboratory technologists and technicians. A technologists performs most of their tasks such as preparation of slides of human tissues and other specimens, using laboratory equipment whereas Medical Laboratory technologists help MLTs and carry out their tasks. The rise in a number of hospitals, nursing homes , biochemical laboratories, pharmaceutical companies, pathological laboratories and many more medical facilities has helped in increasing demand for medical lab technologists. Most of the job opportunities in the field of MLT depend upon the technical and academic skills of the technicians and technologists. Medical Lab technicians can occupy positions in laboratories and hospitals as laboratory manager, hospital outreach coordinators, laboratory information system analyst, Consultant, health care administrator and educational consultant.
