It is a 3 years long Undergraduate
program. Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Each
semester is six months long. Students may pursue this program after
completing their 12th in any stream from a recognized board. As the
name suggests, this program revolves around the field of Information
Technology. B.Sc. IT course, on many fronts, is similar to IT
Engineering program also!
Like all other undergraduate programmes related to Information
Technology, BSc (Bachelor of Science) in IT is basically about
storing, processing, securing, and managing information. This degree
is primarily focused on subjects such as software, databases, and
networking.
All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 or its equivalent examination in any stream conducted by a recognized Board / University / Council.
After completing B.Sc. in Information Technology, students have a wide range of career and higher education opportunities. They can seek employment in IT companies as System Analysts, Database Administrators, Web Programmers, Application Developers, Web Designers, or in technical support and BPO sectors. Students interested in higher studies can pursue M.Sc. (IT) or MCA to strengthen their technical expertise, while an MBA can open pathways to managerial and leadership roles in the corporate sector. Those interested in studying abroad may opt for MS or MBA programs in countries like the UK or USA after fulfilling the required eligibility criteria. Additionally, students can enhance their skills through certification courses in networking, security, software development, and web designing. Graduates may also prepare for various government and public sector examinations such as UPSC, banking, and other competitive exams, offering stable and rewarding career opportunities.
