B.Com is the most popular course. The students opting for this degree are exposed to learning managerial skills, building competence in areas of business .It emphasizes on building up managerial skills and knowledge of students about the streams like banking, financial services, business and commercial laws and accounting. Candidates seeking admission must have passed the 10+2 examination from the Punjab School Education Board or any other recognized equivalent board. Commerce students who have passed 10+2 are required to secure at least 33% aggregate marks. Students who have studied any two of the following commerce-related subjects — Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Principles and Practice of Insurance, or Tax Procedure and Practice — must have obtained a minimum of 40% aggregate marks. All other candidates are required to secure at least 45% aggregate marks to be eligible for admission.
The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program is a three-year undergraduate course divided into six semesters.
