The students opting for this degree are exposed to learning managerial skills, building competence in areas of business .It emphasizes on building up managerial skills and knowledge of students about the streams like banking, financial services, business and commercial laws and accounting. This program educates students broadly in preparation for multiple careers

Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission must have passed the 10+2 examination from the Punjab School Education Board or any other recognized equivalent board. Commerce students who have passed 10+2 are required to secure at least 33% aggregate marks. Students who have studied any two of the following commerce-related subjects — Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Mathematics, Office Management and Secretarial Practice, Principles and Practice of Insurance, or Tax Procedure and Practice — must have obtained a minimum of 40% aggregate marks. All other candidates are required to secure at least 45% aggregate marks to be eligible for admission.

Programme Details

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) program is a three-year undergraduate course divided into six semesters. The program is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in commerce, finance, accounting, business management, taxation, and related fields. Through a balanced combination of theoretical and practical knowledge, students develop analytical, managerial, and problem-solving skills required in the modern business environment. The course prepares students for both higher education and professional careers in the corporate and financial sectors.

They can pursue advanced qualifications such as Chartered Accountancy (CA), MBA in Finance, M.Com, Company Secretary (CS), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India (ICWAI), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), and Certified Public Accountant (CPA). The program also opens doors to diverse career opportunities in banks, insurance companies, audit firms, accounting firms, consultancy organizations, advertising agencies, and corporate sectors.
