Department of Mechancial Engg

The Department runs a university approved under graduate programme Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering. In addition, keeping in view the demands of scenario, our students are trained. LCET students can fetch employment in a variety of Mechanical Engineering related sectors. Regular faculty development programs, seminars and conferences are organized. Students are encouraged to participate in industry visits and trainings because practical training is only possible stance where platforms for it are made available.

The Department can boast of its well equipped laboratories and workshops with latest facilities which are persistently helping mechanical engineers in getting its dream materialized.

Mechanical engineering Department has upgraded CAD/CAM laboratories by installing licensed SOLID WORKS-2008 design software which involves modeling, simulation, assembly, sheet metal works and analysis modules. The department has also installed AUTO CAD-2007 software for modeling of various types of mechanical components. In addition to the above, the college has CNC Lathe Machine (COMPUTER NUMERIC CONTROL from reputed Company which works in collaboration with Tudor Ltd., UK.) robotic Arm and Pneumatic Control Trainer Kit for Industrial Automation Lab. Projects accomplished by Mechanical Engineering students:-

A plastic Molding Machine.
Design and modification of the Shaper.
Attachment of Friction Welding Machine.
Working model of Pneumatic Punching Machine.
Working model of Pneumatic Machining Bed.
A small prototype of AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) for material handling.
Grass Cutting Machine with automatic control without manual operator
