Electronics & communication department aims to provide a quality education to the youngsters so that they can contribute substantially in the development of new technology and serve the nation. We do not emphasize only on the theoretical knowledge but also provide the students practical knowledge so that they can build their future better.
The Department offers following courses:
1. M.Tech: Electronics and Communication Engineering.
2. B.tech: Electronics and Communication Engineering.
The Department offers premier professional training with an eye on modern developments in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Besides theoretical and practical classes, the research and project work is also conducted by the Department. Teaching program contains proper blend of basic concepts and advanced technology.
Various theory and practical courses are taught in the areas of Basic Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronic Devices and Networks, Instrumentation, Analog and Digital Electronics, Control System Engineering, Analog, Digital & Advanced Communication, Microprocessor and Microcontrollers, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Microwaves and Radar, cellular Mobile and Satellite Communication, Optical communication, VLSI Design and Technology, Digital Signal & Image Processing, Biomedical Electronics, TV Engineering, Electronics System Design, Neural Network and Fuzzy Logic, Reliability of Electronics Communication System. Applications of MATLAB techniques are taught in control system engineering and digital and imaging processing.
The Department has experienced and dedicated faculty in the various areas like Microcontrollers, Control system, Digital signal processing, Biomedical Electronics, VLSI design etc. The development of the faculty is encouraged to keep pace with the latest technological changes in the world for guiding project work and research activities carried out by students as well as to get their work published in various national / international / journals / conferences. The Department also offers excellent summer training facilities with all requisite infrastructures in the area like microcontroller and embedded systems, VLSI design and technology, PCB designing and fabrication, Programming languages like C and C++ as well as soft computing techniques like MATLAB etc.
Some of the projects undertaken by the Department are development of energy efficient FHP motors, fuel metering system for vehicles with extra features like digital display for miles to go, microcontroller based access card for energy saving, automatic speed measurement of vehicles for traffic control, GSM based auto call security system, alcohol detector, mine detector, ultrasonic distance meter, laser tracking robot and AVR based data acquisition system etc. the department has an independent project lab where students can work on various fabrication projects as well as software related problems.
