Department of Automobile Engg
The Department of Automobile Engineering at LCET was started in the year 2005 and is offering a four year undergraduate Program me (B.Tech) in Automobile Engineering. LCET is a pioneer amongst institutes which offer undergraduate program me in Automobile Engineering in Punjab. The Department closely pools up the resources with Mechanical Engineering Department for practical instructions on the fundamental and advanced aspects of Engineering.
The Department has following well established laboratories in the following areas.
The Department has successfully guided the students in projects on ATV- ALL terrain Vehicle and LPG Operated Motorcycle. The Department has established the SAE Collegiate Club with its faculty and students as members of SAE INDIA- Indian chapter of Society of Automotive Engineers, USA (a one-stop resource for technical information and expertise used in self propelled vehicles), to keep themselves abreast with the latest happenings in the field of Mobility Engineering.
The club is also listed in the Northern section under student chapter on www.saeindia.org
PROJECT WORK:
All the staff members of the department are either guiding or pursuing research work. The research findings of the staff members are regularly presented/ published in conferences. The latest research activities include the following areas.

- Internal Combustion Engines
- Automotive Transmissions
- Vehicle Body Engineering and
- Vehicle Maintenance workshop.

- Study of compressed air as working fuel in engine.
